Well today was a good day for horses. I had the day off work, and it was sunny and pretty warm and beautiful. So it officially became play with Gypsy day. That is, after I lazed about and enjoyed coffee and Happy Gilmore. Haha.
I finally shampooed and got Gypsy's tail clean and untangled and gorgeous. It was a tad chilly out so I just washed it in a bucket while she was crosstied. I couldn't believe how calm and quietly she stood as I sudsed up her tail and dripped water and soap on her hocks. What a good girl. So I figured, why stop there?! So I also shampooed her lower legs that were looking so icky from the mud. After some more brushing, she looked so good today! I was proud of my clean nice looking pony!
I went to a tack/saddle auction last night with my parents. In a sidenote, I couldn't even believe how cheap the saddles were going for. It was painfully cheap, if thats what I'd been there for. But instead I just got a new very squishy thick saddle pad and a new lunge line. And mama got her a new blanket, so I can finally throw away one of her torn up old ones. Too bad that blanket is turning out to be sort of too big, but we will see if I can make it work.

But anyways, since I got another lunge line I can finally ground drive her now, instead of just lunging and having to stop every time I want to switch directions. I was impressed by how fast she remembered that the line wasn't trying to eat her, when it flops around her bum. She went beautifully. So I rode her a little today too, and she was pretty good for that too. Yay success for the day.
Also painted my jump standards I made. Now they are nice and white. Once they totally dry and I put them back in the arena with the poles, I'll have to take a final picture of the completed project. I am overly proud of my creation. :)
Oh, and here is a totally awesome picture. I love it. Haha, Gypsy likes lemonade popsicles. I let her lick them. Although shortly after this picture she kind of lost interest in eating it. Strange.
