Okay, don't bug me, I know this is a very late post...seeing as the expo was last month... on the 19th or something. But I am lazy, and I will say I' ve been busy so I haven't gotten around to posting about it. I had been to the Oregon state expo, but this was my first time to the Washington state expo. It was pretty fun, I went with a best buddy of mine. There were different trainers giving demos, a breed parade thing, and different exhibition things.
My friend and I went over to a horse backpacking booth. They showed us how to tie a pack together if you were to load it on a horse or mule. He showed us how to do this crazy knot tie thing on the pack. Then he had us do it! And we did it right! It was super cool. And the mule at their booth was super cute :)
I super enjoyed the performance from the Black Pearl Equestrian Troope. They are a 'drill team' type thing ridden Dressage. They do cool paired dressage (the real name of that escapes me at the moment). Here are some photos (bad quality phone photos). It was very exciting and looked like a lot of fun. A cool part is that the owner of the Vet clinic I now work at rides in the troope!
The first picture I believe is of the horse Marco... In the picture of the pair of Friesians, it is Marco and Jupiter. They are beautiful.
Here is Jupiter meeting the audience after their ride! Ahhh look at that mane! It makes me feel so priviledged and awesome that I get to see this big guy every day that I'm at the clinic! The friesians stay at the clinic barn, so I get to feed and water them :)
This picture of all the horses made me laugh. One of these things is not like the other! One of these things just doesn't belong! The lineup of all the friesians....then an AppaloosaXFriesian cross! I believe the lineup goes... Marco, Jupiter, Tommy, Vogue, then Papparazzi! Adorable!!!
There was also a vaulting show thing. I had never seen it before so it was really neat! There were a whole bunch of young people jumping and doing handstands and crazy pyrimids on top of these great big Belgians! As they cantered around! It was crazy! I took video of it, that refuses to load. No Pictures. A fail for me.
Hmm what else.. Steve Rother was there doing some demos with different horses. I have never watched him before, but I kinda liked him. He seems like a very chill trainer, and is very funny! He was doing demos on making your horse braver, getting them to relax, then had a little show with some trick trained mini horses.
All in all, I thought the expo was pretty cool. Maybe I'll go back next year :)
